As part of our outreach and education efforts we have decided to publish our first children's book. "The Plastic Tree and his friends" was be published on February 21st, 2024 on Amazon.

The story is about a playground tree that wants to be like the real trees, filled with flowers and birds. He gets his chance when a Queen Hornet decides to biuld her nest on the plastic tree. This obviously has some undesirable consciences but it helps the tree understand his purpose. 

Along the way, the children that use the playground with the neighborhood beekeeper learn about different wasps, bees and other pollinators. 

This story is based off an actual removal we did in 2023 at Pouch Camp on Staten Island.
